save from anywhere bookmarklet and phones

Save any page you are reading, with tags and a note, and vouch for it if you want to. A small attest window opens with the page's address and title; you sign there, with attest's own session, so the page you are reading never touches your key.

On a computer

Drag this to your bookmarks bar, then click it on any page:

On an Android phone

  1. Open attest.monster in Chrome and sign in.
  2. Menu ⋮ → Add to home screen (or Install app).
  3. From then on, Share → attest appears for any link, in any app.

On an iPhone or iPad

iPhone browsers do not let websites join the share sheet, so use a bookmarklet. Phones get a version that opens the save page in the same tab and returns you to the page afterwards:

Chrome

  1. Bookmark any page: ⋯ → Add to Bookmarks.
  2. ⋯ → Bookmarks, press and hold the new bookmark, Edit Bookmark. Name it attest and paste what you copied as its address.
  3. To use it: on any page, tap the address bar, type attest, and tap the bookmark in the suggestions. Chrome on iPhone runs bookmarklets from the address bar, not from the bookmarks list.

Safari

  1. Bookmark any page (share button → Add Bookmark), naming it attest.
  2. Open bookmarks, Edit, tap the new one, and replace its address with what you copied.
  3. On any page, tap the address bar and choose attest from your bookmarks.

Or without a bookmarklet

Copy a link, open attest.monster/save (add it to your home screen once), and paste. Or make a Shortcut that receives URLs from the share sheet and opens https://attest.monster/save?url= followed by the shared URL; the share sheet works in any browser.

Where saves go

Each bookmark is a monster.attest.bookmark record in your own AT Protocol repository, signed by your key: the address, title, tags and note. Filing a page under a tag is not the same as vouching for it; the checkbox adds a separate upvote. Your bookmarks are on your page at attest.monster/yourname, and everything filed under a word is at attest.monster/tag/word.
