attest

Trust, passed hand to hand.

Save what you read. Vouch for what you stand behind. See the web through the eyes of the people you trust, and the people they trust. Your record is yours, signed with your phone.

Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. (Archimedes)

How it works

1Sign in with your phoneYour face or fingerprint unlock is your key. No password, no email, nothing to remember.
2Save and vouch as you readTag any page from any site, with a button in your browser or your phone's share menu. Say which ones you stand behind.
3See through trusted eyesSee what the people you trust saved, vouched for and said, on their own pages and under each tag.

Why

Much of what reaches us is pushed by people we would never trust if we could see who they were. We end up judging each post by its content, squinting at a photograph to decide whether it is real. attest lets you look at the envelope instead: who sent this, who stands behind them, and how that has turned out before. It is built for people who want to find each other, and act together, on the things that matter, including the living world we share.

Everything you do here is a public statement signed by your own key and kept in your own record on an open network, so it cannot disappear with a company. Why a monster · more about attest · the essay · questions

For builders

One script tag gives any site sign-in, votes, comments and vouches, with no accounts or database of its own. Build with attest · all docs
